Senior Business Broker

Job Summary

As a Senior Business Broker, you will be responsible for facilitating the buying and selling of businesses by acting as a liaison between sellers and buyers. You will work closely with business owners to understand their objectives, value their businesses, and prepare them for sale. Additionally, you will identify potential buyers, negotiate deals, and ensure a smooth transition of ownership.

Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Drive sales growth by actively prospecting new business opportunities and clients.
  • Work closely with business owners to understand their financials, operations, and long-term goals.
  • Guide the business owners through the confidential listing and selling process.
  • Coordinate the business valuation process.
  • Prepare the Company Profile and develop comprehensive marketing strategies to attract potential buyers, while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Buyer Identification

  • Research and identify potential buyers through various company’s channels, as well as industry databases, networking events, and online platforms.
  • Pre-screen buyers based on their financial capabilities, industry experience, and strategic fit.
  • Ensure the signing of confidentiality agreements.

Negotiation

  • Facilitate negotiations between buyers and sellers to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Ensure that all parties are well-informed about the terms and conditions of the deal.

Deal Structuring

  • Assist in structuring deals (terms sheet, offer,…).
  • Collaborate with legal and financial professionals to ensure all legal and financial aspects of the transaction are addressed.

Due Diligence

  • Coordinate the due diligence process, ensuring that both buyers and sellers have access to necessary information.
  • Address any concerns or issues that may arise during the due diligence phase.

Closing and Transition

  • Assist buyers, when relevant, in obtaining business acquisition financing.
  • Work closely with legal teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of ownership, including employee transitions and customer communication.

While the focus is on buying and selling SMEs, the role also involves the sale and purchase of franchises and assisting local startups and businesses in national international growth and development.

We operate with a team-based approach and collaborate on various transactions. Although you’ll operate as an entrepreneur, the company provides comprehensive support, including methodology, tools & templates, marketing and lead-generating activities, administrative support and training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Business Intermediary) may be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in business brokerage, mergers and acquisitions, Business Development, Alliance & Partnership Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, business valuation, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, buyers, and other professionals involved in the transaction.
  • Familiarity with legal aspects of business transactions and contract negotiation, including Spanish law.
  • Capability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing deals, clients, and prospects.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive business information.
